Mission of the Beta Tau Colony

The brothers here at the Beta Tau Colony of Zeta Beta Tau at Plattsburgh State University all strive for the ongoing personal development of each of it's brothers.  We all pride ourselves on our achievements, both in the classroom and the world at large.  As such, we encourage the ambitions and ideals of each of our members as we prepare ourselves, with each other's help, for the outward leap into the professional world, and the rest of our lives.

But what can we hope to take away from this experience called "College"?  For some, it is only a piece of paper marking their achievement.  For others, the memories of good times and hardships during their 4 years of school.  For those of us of Zeta Beta Tau we carry all these things with us, and also a sense that through it all, we did not have to carry the burden alone, as we were all in the struggle together and in the end, together we came out on top. 

In essence, that is the mission of the brothers of the Beta Tau Colony.  We seek integration... all of race, ethnicity, walk of life, personality, and integration into the college way of life.  We seek experience with ourselves, other people on the campus and community.  We seek to make a difference, through helping others and by virtue of our community service and fundraising efforts.  We seek preparation, for the world beyond college life.  We seek equity, among our members and all people.  And finally, we seek the memories friendship bonds... the type that are known throughout and well witnessed as part of the Zeta Beta Tau Tradition.
